Introduction to DDJAY Scheme

As the name suggests, DDJAY or Dainik Jagran Yuva Aabhiman Yojana is a scheme that was launched by the Haryana government under the leadership of Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar in this scheme some of the plots list with an aim to provide employment to the youth of the state. The scheme was first introduced in Gurugram and Faridabad districts and later on extended to other districts of Haryana.

Under this scheme, unemployed youth were given training in various skills such as computer literacy, spoken English, soft skills, etc. After successful completion of the training, they were placed in various private companies on contract basis for a period of two years. The stipend paid to them during this period was Rs. 6000 per month.

However, after running successfully for two years, the scheme was discontinued by the state government in 2019 without any prior notice or explanation. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has discontinue the DDJAY scheme in Gurugram and Faridabad. The scheme, which was launched in 2015, provided financial assistance to families who had a girl child in the age group of 6-14 years and wanted to send her to school.

For about 369 acres, 40 licenses have already been granted to Faridabad under the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna (DDJAY). For almost 695 acres, 62 licenses have been granted to Gurugram. To achieve sustainable development goals, it has been decided to grant letters of intent (LoI) to 24 Gurugram projects covering 211 acres and four Faridabad projects covering 32.66 acres.

Approximately 382 licenses have been issued for 4,200 acres of land, and between now and January 2022, 76,500 plots will be subdivided throughout the state. It is believed that this scheme was developed primarily for Haryana towns with low or medium potential. Later, Gurugram and Faridabad were added to the list of towns with high potential.
